Reliance General Insurance

Built a web application using the MVC design pattern in .NET as a cost-saving alternative to direct policy bookings, cutting the administrative labor by approximately two times over the course of a single engagement. Improved the web application’s stability significantly after refactoring major codebase chunks and resolving critical bugs, leading to a performance increase of over 30%. Learned about Microsoft Azure DevOps while collaborating with the support and maintenance teams for software quality assurance and testing.

Wellness Score AI

Deployed a machine learning model to help insurance companies predict the health of their clients by providing a wellness score ranging from 1 to 10, with 1 indicating low wellness levels and elevated risk, and 10 indicating high wellness levels and minimal risk. Empowered the clients to know their health risks, improve their lifestyles, and track their own progress using the insights gained to provide personalized suggestions and rewards.

PSL Email Classification

Extracted clean email text and classified whether it was human-generated or automated using Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), and Random Forest (RF) machine learning classification algorithms. Evaluated the models based on standard evaluation metrics and observed that Random Forest outperformed others, followed by Support Vector Machine.

Publications

Adaptive Learned Indexing extension in DuckDB
  • The paper proposes implementing an Adaptive LEarned indeX (ALEX) in DuckDB. Learned indexes use Machine Learning algorithms to predict the correct position of a key in the index. The use of statistical models helps in making better predictions than traditional systems which use hierarchical data structures. (link)

AI-powered wellness score calculator to quantify health status based on user data
  • Deployed an AI-driven wellness scoring model for insurance companies, providing a clear risk indication for clients, reforming underwriting process development and reducing claim costs by 15% through better risk management. Engineered a gamified rewards system incentivizing healthy habits, encouraging 1,200 clients to track progress through advertising campaigns and business analysis, leading to a 50% growth in participation in health improvement activities.
